Welcome

FRESH NEWS on NEWS PAGE

This web site is dedicated to all who served with XV, 90, 149 & 622 Bomber Squadrons and their support personnel at RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath during WWII. The aim of the website is to provide a source of information, memories and stories for anyone with an interest in the squadrons and the personnel who served as Ground or Air crew at Mildenhall and Lakenheath.
On its initial formation, in around 1979, the Mildenhall Register’s objective was to bring together people who share a common bond with the squadrons that operated out of RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath during the Second World War, and all their support staff. Here we will try to cover all aspects of the squadrons’ histories, groundcrew memories and individual aircraft and crew stories.

Today we appeal to a wider audience, with the intention of perpetuating and preserving the memory of all those who contributed to the ultimate victory. WW2 'Erk, Air Traffic Controller, NAAFI lady; whether you are relatives of Squadron members, researching family members, remembering old friends or would like to know more of what it meant to be in the RAF at this time, you are most welcome to join
